How the Sculptures
are made

Dear Fellow Collector,
Inside, you will find a brief description of our company and how the sculptures are made, as well as some suggestions for optimizing their conservation.

Our raison d'être? To offer you, our collector, original sculptures of the highest esthetic quality, impeccably made by an organization providing superior service.

About Next Gen
It all started in 1979 with an ideal: to produce the highest quality sculptures so that our work would be internationally recognized. At that time our name was Creart and we mainly produced figures of animals.
The friendships we formed and experience gained allowed us to set out on our next adventure. Having created an extensive line of animals, we decided to expand our range of subject matter and concentrate even more on our sculptural work.
This new era required a name change, one that would be understood the world over: Next Gen. As Creart was the caterpillar, Next Gen became the butterfly. It is a new generation based on experience and sensitivity that has been updated - a selection of the best from among the very good. With our workshop of sculptors fortified by extremely talented artists, the organization is attaining ever higher performance levels, offering worthy competition in the worldwide marketplace. We now focus more on the infinite facets of the human body, as well as religious, architectural and cultural subjects.

Modeling
The sculpture begins with the selection of one of the themes suggested by the public. The master sculptor carries out an in-depth documentary study, encompassing historical, emotional and cultural aspects before moving on to the anatomical analysis. All of this preparation culminates in sketches depicting the proposed sculpture. It is discussed and enriched in the creative workshop, where the final composition is ultimately approved.
Talent then vies with patience as bit by bit the modeling clay is transformed, and shapes and details emerge. Compasses and rulers are used to determine the proportions and dimensions. Suggestions and opinions turn into solutions, and the amorphous lump of modeling clay is converted into a sculpture pulsing with vitality, expression and beauty. A mold is made of this clay figure, and from it a reproduction is cast in a tougher material. The artist's skill is once again the key, when refining every part of the reproduction. After hundreds of hours of arduous labor, the result is the master sculpture. The artistic piece is photographed and registered, and is finally passed on to production.

Production
Reproductions are made from molds taken from the master model. A composite we call polysmar, made of marble powder, a polymer and reinforcement materials such as fiberglass and steel, is used for the reproductions.
After the reproduction is cleaned of the extraneous bits necessary for molding with a hand reamer, it is numbered and decorated. The rich, clean, intense coloring may only be achieved by hand painting with a natural brush, precisely mixing and layering colors. The colors that bring the pieces to life are top quality professional art materials which allow them to withstand the passage of time without losing their charm. They are prestigious international brands of acrylic, oil and other types of paints.
Our team of artisans is made up of experts in each task who are in constant contact with artistic advisors as they carry out each step of the process.
Finally, the sculptures are covered with a flexible, thin, transparent coating of a special lacquer which protects the colors while also allowing the figure to be cleaned.
The result of this long process is sculptures with intricate forms, color schemes as varied as those observed in nature and a range of textures that goes from the smoothness of glass to the roughness of rock. We do this work to reach you, touch your sensitivity and move you by contemplating its beauty.

Packaging
The finished piece is placed in a polyurethane foam container which holds it tightly inside a cardboard box. The box is closed, sealed and forwarded to its destination. Conservation of the packaging will allow you to transport your sculpture safely and, in case of accident, to send it to us for restoration.

Guarantees
Each part of the long creation process is carefully supervised, both by artists and technicians. This makes it possible to ensure that every piece faithfully expresses the artist's message and that the collector receives only original, top quality work reflecting all the detailed effort expended, free of defects and in perfect condition.
This is how we guarantee all of our sculptures from material and/or labor defects for a year as of purchase date. When necessary, we will, free of charge, restore or exchange your sculpture at our facilities.

Personalized Authenticity Certificate and Gazette
All Next Gen, sculptures are made in singular, numbered editions. Once the collector provides us with his/her name and address, as well as the sculpture title and number, we return the corresponding Personalized Authenticity Certificate by mail at no cost. If so authorized on the Certificate Request Form, (s)he will periodically receive a gratis copy of the informative gazette containing new models and notes of interest to collectors, published twice yearly.

Conservation and Maintenance
Next Gen sculptures are conceived to last as long as any work of art. To conserve them indefinitely, we recommend that, as museums protect paintings from sunlight and extreme temperatures, you do the same. To clean them, use only water and a soft brush.

Nonetheless, accidents may happen over time. If this were to occur, as a result of the control of all the processes and the materials used, Next Gen sculptures may be restored to recover their original appearance, once again looking exactly as they did when they first left our workshop. Naturally, we also restore Creart sculptures from your collection.

Contact us to coordinate the remittance of your sculpture for restoration.

Thank you
